The Team.
Newton Ventures' team combines commercial brokerage, analyst-led preparation, funding structuring support and transaction coordination.
Our role is to help suitable Clients prepare and present their Funding Request in a way that sophisticated Funding Channels and/or Lenders/Investors can understand, test and progress. This includes identifying information gaps, reviewing supporting materials, preparing the Credit File, coordinating with Funding Channels and assisting Clients through the due diligence and completion process where applicable.

Partner
Jake Newton is a commercially focused finance professional with more than 15 years’ experience raising finance for businesses and projects across multiple sectors and jurisdictions.
He specialises in connecting clients with suitable funding partners across project finance, business finance, debt and equity funding, asset-based lending, bridging finance and trade finance. His experience is particularly focused on real estate, technology, media, energy and other asset-backed or growth-led sectors.
Jake works closely with private lenders, family offices, institutional investors and strategic funding partners to originate, structure and facilitate funding opportunities. His role is highly hands-on, supporting clients from initial engagement through to funding partner introduction, information preparation, process management and transaction progression.
Known for his commercial approach and relationship-led style, Jake focuses on understanding each client’s funding requirement, positioning the opportunity effectively, and helping clients navigate the funding process with clarity and discipline.

Ben Newton is an entrepreneur, founder, board member and strategic advisor with extensive experience across business development, fundraising, media, entertainment, digital platforms, hospitality, property, fashion, consumer brands and commodities.
He works with start-up, growth-stage and established businesses, supporting founders, management teams and stakeholders with capital raising, strategic positioning, commercial development and expansion planning. His experience spans debt, bridge and equity funding, as well as broader strategic consultancy for businesses, individuals and charitable organisations.
Ben brings a strong entrepreneurial perspective to Newton Ventures, combining commercial creativity with practical execution. He has worked across multiple sectors and territories, helping businesses move from concept and early-stage growth through to maturity, scale and market expansion.
His role focuses on origination, client relationships, strategic partnerships and identifying funding opportunities where Newton Ventures can add value through its network, structuring capability and access to private capital partners.

Partner
Mick Newton is an experienced business founder, investor and senior advisor with more than four decades of experience across international trade, finance, creative industries, technology platforms, media, entertainment and property development.
He brings seasoned commercial judgement, financial discipline and a practical founder perspective to Newton Ventures, supporting clients and internal teams with strategic oversight, governance, capital structuring and commercial decision-making.
Mick’s career began in publishing and industrial manufacturing, where he developed a strong foundation in financial control, operational analysis and stakeholder management. He later established and scaled a global food trading business supplying major FMCG clients, gaining significant experience in market risk, regulatory resilience, supply chain management and business continuity.
He also co-founded a leading creative and management group representing globally recognised artists and award-winning design talent, overseeing P&L governance, contract negotiation and diversification into record labels, design studios and galleries. His experience in brand equity, intellectual property and creative-sector value creation gives him a distinctive perspective on business growth and asset value.
Mick has also led venture-backed digital platforms in the live entertainment and ticketing sectors, securing strategic investment from major global partners and gaining deep experience in capital structure, investor relations, technology governance and business model adaptation.
Through his ongoing property ventures, Mick has delivered award-winning residential projects recognised by RIBA, The Sunday Times and The Architectural Journal.
At Newton Ventures, Mick provides independent strategic and commercial advisory support to founders, boards and businesses seeking capital across debt, equity, bridging and trade finance. His focus is on governance, strategic oversight, capital allocation and helping clients approach growth, funding and risk with experienced commercial discipline.

Head of Origination
Sam Fields is Head of Origination at Newton Ventures, specialising in private credit, structured finance and capital markets.
He focuses on identifying, originating and developing funding opportunities for businesses and projects seeking debt, equity or hybrid capital solutions. His work spans private markets, family offices, institutional investors and specialist funding partners, with experience across a broad range of industries and transaction types.
Sam’s expertise includes business development, investor relations, AI integration, deal origination and the structuring of complex financing transactions. He works closely with clients, introducers and funding partners to assess opportunities, understand funding requirements and support the early-stage positioning of transactions before they move into detailed review.
With a strong commercial and relationship-led approach, Sam helps ensure that funding opportunities are presented clearly, professionally and in a way that aligns with the expectations of sophisticated private capital providers.

Our analysts provide the support set out opposite for each Funding Request, working through Newton Ventures’s process from initial review to completion.

Newton Ventures does not replace the Client’s legal, tax, accounting, valuation, technical, investment or regulatory advisers, and the Client remains responsible for ensuring that all information provided is accurate, complete, up to date and capable of being evidenced.
